Web ordering - Remote Edge restricted lenses

A lab may not wish to offer remote edging on certain lenses because of expense or material or form.

A new column has been added to the lenses.csv which indicates that the lens is not permitted for remote edging. An entry of 0 in the column disallows this lens.

You can pick up latest copy of slzlang here: Web data updater

Abbe / Density and getting the order number.

There are new columns in the lens selection for Abbe / Density.  This is useful for PMS software to obtain.

Third party can also obtain the order number by passing over CLIPBOARD=1 in the URL. This will place the order number on the clipboard.  Note, some browsers may prevent this from happening.

Tints

The web ordering software allows the optician tint request to be passed through. The expectation is that the nearest tint is selected from the available options and then the user types in the requested tint. This has caused some problems.

If the lab does not allow "non-standard" tints then there is an option in the site configuration / page2 - Overwrite Tint.  If this is not ticked then the description passed through to the lab will be the lab tint description.  A non-standard tint can still be set by setting a tint with a ? in the description.  It may be useful to create several such tints eg
Brown Non-Standard Solid tint ?LTF
Grey Non-Standard Solid tint ?LTF
Blue Non-Standard Solid tint ?LTF
Brown Non-Standard Graduatint ?LTF

V097 - Product finding according to Rx

The lens selection now has a new option, Consider Rx. If this is ticked then the lenses are filtered so as to only match the Rx that has been entered. This is useful for unusual addtions or powers.

vcatracer and Nidek mode

It is now possible to connect a Nidek tracer configured in Nidek mode to V1.23 of the vcatracer program.

The VCA protocol is recommended as it includes both eyes and 3D data. The output from the program when a Nidek format tracer is connected will still be in the VCA format.

Catch up

It has been a busy 2010, starting with the snow and then a ski holiday. Feb has been down to work and there are more exciting developments in the pipe line.  We have been doing some work on improving the performance and we achieved over 1000 orders in a day during February, so onwards and upwards.

Oh and I am also running the London Marathon so busy training for that.

Layout manager - right justification

Eventually, the layout manager used to design the print outs now allows fields to be specified as right justified.  Where the layout manager is built into our applications (eg Annapurna) then this will be included in the next release of the application. If you want the latest version then it is here:
